13X Molecular Sieve

13X molecular sieve is the sodium form of an X-type crystal and has a much larger pore opening than an a-type crystal. It adsorbs molecules with a kinetic diameter of less than 9 angstroms (0.9 Nm) and excludes those that are larger. It also has the highest performance among conventional adsorbers and a high mass transfer rate. It can remove impurities that are too large to fit in a type a crystal, and is usually used to separate nitrogen from oxygen.

13X molecular sieve regeneration

A molecular sieve of type 13X can be regenerated either by heating in the case of processes with heat differences, or by lowering the pressure in the case of pressure differences. To remove moisture from the 13x molecular sieve, a temperature of 250-300°C is required. A properly regenerated molecular sieve can produce a dew point temperature for moisture below -100°C or mercaptan, or a CO2 level below 2 ppm. The concentration at the outlet during the pressure drop will depend on the gas present and on the process conditions.

Attention

To avoid carbon dioxide or pre-adsorption of organic matter, it must be reactivated before starting.
