5A molecular sieve is mainly used in heterogeneous separation of carbon, for adsorption with pressure differences, gas drying from water and carbon dioxide. It can be used for separation of oxygen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and other adsorption processes, as well as adsorption with pressure differences.

Typical application

a) the strong ionic forces of the divalent calcium ion make it an excellent adsorbent for removing water, CO2, H2S from acidic natural gas streams, while the mini-formation of reduced natural gas is absent. Light mercaptans are also adsorbed;
b) separation of normal paraffin and isoparaffin;
c) production of high-purity N2, O2, H2 and inert gases from mixed gas streams;
d)static (non-regenerative) dewatering of the double-glazed window filled with air or gas.

Regeneration of type 5A molecular sieve

The type 5A molecular sieve can be regenerated either by heating in the case of processes with heat differences, or by lowering the pressure in the case of pressure differences. To remove moisture from the 5A molecular sieve, a temperature of 250-300°C is required. A properly regenerated molecular sieve can produce a dew point temperature for moisture below -100°C or mercaptan, or a CO2 level below 2 ppm. The concentration at the outlet during the pressure drop will depend on the gas present and on the process conditions.

Attention

To avoid carbon dioxide or pre-adsorption of organic matter, it must be reactivated before starting.
